An international scientific conference will take place as part of the official calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The 9th International Scientific Conference will be held in the framework of the Thirteenth International Defense Equipment Exhibition "HEMUS 2018". The conference was organized by the Defense Professor "Professor Tsvetan Lazarov" and Hemus'95 Foundation under the patronage of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria.

This year's event will take place as part of the official calendar of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the European Union and the topic of the conference is "Research, Innovation and Industrial Cooperation in the Interest of Common European Defense and Security".

The conference aims to present current policies, programs and initiatives on topics related to the EU's defense research and industrial cooperation challenges. The latest developments related to the European Defense Fund, as well as the opportunities for participation in projects within the framework of the Defense Research Preparatory Action and the future European Defense Research Program, will be analyzed. During the conference, various ideas and solutions for weapons development, combat systems and technologies, communication and information systems, cyber security, military, political, social and economic aspects of defense will be discussed.

A call for participation in the conference will be addressed to the research and technology directors and armaments directors from the EU Member States as well as representatives of various scientific and defense-related associations and organizations in Bulgaria.

The 9th International Scientific Conference is an open forum for sharing opinions and ideas and we invite everyone who wants to share their views on the development of research, innovation and industrial cooperation in the interest of the common European defense and security, to participate in the 9th International Scientific Conference conference HEMUS-2018.

The 9th International Scientific Conference will be held in Plovdiv on 31 May 2018.
